Sai Nethra Foundation

Sai Netra foundation started by Ms Anitha. MSC psychology, MA sociology ,D.pharmacy and Special graduation in English literature started a home for visually challenged and impaired in 2011.
They are maintaining this with the support of friends and disciples including family members. Most of their inmates lost vision in later years due to brain tumours, Cancer Or optic nerve problems. Some have undergone brain surgeries and lost 100% vision. They all come from poor and single parent families. They are coming from various districts of Telangana and Andhpradesh. They come to city in search of starting new life . All are well educated or pursuing higher education or learning new life skills to lead normal life with visual impairment.

These people are referred by LV Prasad institute. Since these people are poor they can’t afford to stay in hostels and with normal people. So we provide accommodation and good nutritious food with compassion. First we bring them out from depression and give confidence to lead normal life. We listen their problems unconditionally and non judgemental way making them feel that they are cared.

It has been a heart wrenching experience. Every person in the organisation is more than 70% visually impaired and also there are people who are completely blind. Most of them are abandoned from their own homes due to their lack of vision.

We have noticed that in spite of the challenges they face, there was no person who was sitting idle. Some of them are pursuing their bachelors, some are working in the grocery stores. There is a vocal music student, a software tester, and what not. They have no excuses to lead their lives as a normal person.

Very glad that we had a chance to serve them. We have donated below items to them.

1) One desktop computer.
2) RO Water purifier.
3) Snacks

Some of the extraordinary singing and mimicry performances.
